Flexibility

Volunteering That Fits Your Life:

We understand - life can get busy. That's why we've made volunteering at WAG as flexible as possible. Whether it's shopping, prescription deliveries, helping out at The WAG House, or making wellbeing calls, we've got a role to fit your schedule. You simply fill in a weekly rota with your available times for the upcoming week. Some roles can even be done from the comfort of your home! Whether you've got an hour a week or an hour a month, your time really does make a difference. At WAG, every contribution counts and we're here to help you fit volunteering into your life.

Volunteering Roles

Practical Help :

Shopping Assistance: Help those who can't get out for their shopping themselves. You'll be providing a much-needed service and might even make a new friend!

Prescription Pick-ups: Some of our community members struggle with getting their prescriptions. As a volunteer, you can help ensure they get the medications they need.

Community Events:

Event Support: Lend a hand at our events and help bring our community together.

Fundraising Support: Help us organise events, coordinate campaigns, and raise vital funds.

Volunteer Driving:

Transport to The WAG House & Activities: As a volunteer driver, you'll help people who struggle with mobility to be part of our community activities. It might be a lift to The WAG House for a fun event or a craft session, or a ride to one of our outdoor activities. You'll be their link to the community and a friendly face that starts their outing right. A valid driving license and a welcoming manner are all you need to bring smiles to our community members' faces, helping them join in the fun and friendship at WAG.

Helpline:

Helpline Support: Give an hour or so of your time each week to help with our helpline. This can be done from the comfort of your home and is a great way to provide direct support to those who need it.

Befriending:

Telephone Befriending: Make a difference with just a phone call. Reach out to someone who might feel a bit lonely. A chat over the phone can be a real mood-booster.
Face-to-Face Befriending: Spend some time with a community member who might feel isolated. A cup of tea, a chat, or a shared activity can brighten someone's day and help them feel more connected.

Wellbeing Calls: Be the friendly voice that brightens someone's day. A simple phone call to check in on our community members can have a huge impact. It's a great way to ensure our friends and neighbours know someone is thinking of them and cares about their wellbeing.

Each role is unique and incredibly important in supporting our community. Whether you have a few hours a week or can only help occasionally, your contribution matters. Together, we're making Warminster a more connected and supportive place for everyone.
