A warm, welcoming place to make, create, and connect

 Hello everyone,

We’re really excited to share that our new creative workspace at the WAG House is taking shape beautifully. It’s becoming a cosy, uplifting place where people can make things, try something new, and enjoy a bit of time for themselves. What started as a simple idea to use the upstairs more creatively has now turned into a proper little hub for wellbeing, connection, and community.

Over the past year we’ve been gathering ideas, bringing in donated supplies, sorting the room, and working closely with volunteers who want to help us offer creative sessions. Little by little, it’s come to life. The Community Shed sits on one side, and the other space is now being transformed into an area we can use for craft workshops, small groups, training, and relaxed get-togethers. It’s early days, but it already feels like something really special.

Why Creativity Matters

Anyone who’s ever sat down with a craft project will know how calming it can be. Creativity helps ease stress, gives people a focus, and offers a gentle lift on days when everything feels a bit heavy. It can also help people build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy a sense of purpose. That’s what this space is all about – giving our community a place where they can relax, feel welcome, and have a go at something enjoyable without any pressure.

What’s Next

In the coming weeks we’ll be sharing more about how you can get involved, what sessions we’ll be offering, and how volunteers can help run workshops. We’re really looking forward to opening the doors properly and hearing what you’d like to see happen in the space. This is very much a community-led project, and your ideas will help shape it as it grows.

Share Your Ideas With Us

We’d love to hear what you’d like to see happening in the Creative Space. Whether you’re interested in taking part, running a session, or you’ve got an idea you think the community would enjoy, please feel free to let us know.

You can share your thoughts here: In our Creative Survey

Your feedback will really help shape how the space grows over the coming months.
