Hello everyone,
We’re absolutely buzzing with excitement to share that our new creative workspace at the WAG House is finally coming to life! It’s shaping up to be an inspiring and therapeutic haven where art, creativity, and wellbeing come together for everyone in our community. This initiative started with the idea of having the Community Shed upstairs, and now we've transformed the other space into something truly special. We dreamed of a versatile area for training, meetings, and all sorts of creative activities, and now that vision is becoming a reality.
We’re so lucky to have Cathryn Orchard on board to lead this project. Cathryn is not just an incredibly talented artist but also a qualified art psychotherapist. She brings a wealth of experience in mental health and community arts, and her passion for helping people find their creative spark makes her the perfect person for this role. We can’t wait to see how this space will evolve under her guidance and bring even more creativity and connection to our community!
We all know how powerful creativity can be. Engaging in creative activities can really work wonders, helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and those low moods. It’s also great for boosting self-esteem, improving sleep, and enhancing overall wellbeing. Our new creative workspace is all about tapping into these benefits for everyone. So, whether you’re looking to unwind, make new friends, or just want to have a go at something creative, this space is here to help you feel better and have fun!
Our Creative Space is buzzing with activity! We're currently offering a variety of programs, including regular low-cost art groups, evening masterclasses, and children’s art activities. We've also introduced art therapy sessions, providing a chance to explore creativity in a therapeutic setting.
The space is available for gallery shows and exhibitions, and we welcome community groups to use it as a meeting room. Whether you're looking to learn a new skill or simply enjoy the arts, there's something for everyone!
Our Creative Space offers free art sessions led by Cathryn, a qualified art therapist and volunteer. These sessions are designed to foster creativity, connection, and wellbeing within the community. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of experience, in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Cathryn also hosts her own classes through Art Nature Wellness, covering a range of art and wellbeing topics. These classes offer different ways to explore creativity, with some focusing on therapeutic aspects and others on artistic techniques. For more information on the variety of sessions available, including schedules and booking details, please visit Art Nature Wellness.
